VITEKO 2 ON Imipenem is designed for antimicrobial susceptibility testing of Gram-negative bacilli. VITEK 2 ON Imipenem is a quantitative test intended for use with the VITEK 2 and VITEK 2 Compact Systems using VITEK 2 Systems 5.02 Software as a laboratory aid in the determination of in vitro susceptibility to antimicrobial agents. Imipenem has been shown to be active both in vitro and in clinical infections against most strains of the following microorganisms according to the FDA label for the antimicrobial. Active in vitro and in clinical infections: Acinetobacter spp. Morganella morganhi Citrobacter spp. Proteus vulgaris Enterobacter aerogenes Providencia retigeri Eacherichia coli Pseudomonas aeruginosa Kiebsiella spp. Serratia marcescens Active in vitro but clinical significance unknown: Providencia stuarii The VITEK® 2 Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test (AST) is intended to be used with the VITEK® 2 System for the automated quantitative or qualitative susceptibility testing of isolated colonies for the most clinically significant aerobic gram-negative bacilli, Staphylococcus app., Enterococcus app., Streptococcus agalactiae, S. pneurnoniae and clinically significant yeast. The VITEK 2 Systems (PC) 5.02 Software is intended for use with VITEK 2 and VITEK 2 Compact Systems.
